Alpha Wire Adds New 3 Conductor to V Series
Alpha Wire has added a new VFD cable to their product catalog. They have expanded their already popular V series cables with a new 3-conductor version. Specifically designed for variable frequency drives (VFD), Alpha’s V series cables minimize the problems that can arise from harmonics, corona discharges, and power distortion. The new 3-conductor version provides the same benefits in a smaller package, which can help reduce costs over the larger versions.
3-Conductor V Series Cables are available from 16 AWG 16 to 4/0 AWG and feature cross-linked polyethylene insulation for corona resistance, low capacitance and a symmetrical design for more flexibility. All gauge sizes feature overall shielding for EMI protection: aluminum/polyester/aluminum foil and copper braid with 85% coverage for gauges 16 to 4, and double-layer copper table for the larger gauges. They are also standard approved for UL Types TC-ER, 1000-V Motor Supply Cable, and XHHW-2 among others.
