AWC Brings the World to School

On Tuesday, April 8, 2008, students at Woodbine Elementary School in Cape May County, NJ celebrated Earth Day thanks in part to Allied Wire and Cable.

The elementary school was able to host an earth balloon due to a grant from Allied Wire that helped fund the exhibit.  A 20-foot-tall, three-dimensional inflatable globe known as the Earth Balloon visited the elementary school.  The globe is a traveling exhibit, which was hand-painted over 500 hours.

Students were given a lecture about plate tectonics, continental drift, rain forests, and mountains and learned about how the continents are changing every day.  Students were even able to wander through the middle of the earth.

The local NBC news program covered the exhibit -http://www.nbc40.net/view_story.php?id=5193.

Allied Wire and Cable was thrilled for the opportunity to help make the special day happen.
